The A.M.B! Has been founded in 2000 in Hamburg by Ralf Browatzki who has been in previous senior positions of th maritime and cruise industry. His maritime career began in 1975 as a trainee in Hapag-Lloyd AG in Hamburg. Ralf has spend a year in South East Asia in a refugee project of the German Red Cross, spend 5 years in his first managerial position in British Airways, lead the marketing and sales team of DFDS Scandinavian Seaways in Hamburg and finally joined the cruise industry as a corporate marketing director for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and later as MD in Festival Cruises. In 1999 he decided to start a consultancy career. In TMP worldwide he learned the tools, practise’s and procedures of Executive Search.
In 2000 A.M.B! Shipping was formed and grew with the booming shipping market. First clients where ship-manager and shipowner seeking for executives and experts to run their technical-, marine- and crew operations in North Europe and Cyprus.
Soon the business focus diversified organically. Large global terminal operators, insurance companies, classification societies, bunker provider, broker houses, shipyards, technical suppliers, leasing companies fund houses and ship finance banks became clients.
In 2006 the company moved to Cyprus where the head office is based until today. Meanwhile we are 12 industry experienced consultants in:
Cyprus, Hamburg, Zuerich, Rotterdam, London, Dubai, Singapore, New York and Sydney.
